There is no  point &amp; shoot camera that equivalent to digital SLR camera because DSR have larger sensor, better optics but if you want good point &amp; shoot camera I would suggest Canon PowerShot S90
Improved low-light image performance, plus a Low Light scene mode for ISO settings up to 12,800
RAW + JPEG shooting and recording modes

or another good one is Panasonic DMC-LX3
High quality F2.0 24mm Leica DC Vario-Summicron lens, high-performance in low-light conditions
The image quality is certainly and noticeably better than the ulracompact cameras</description>
