Canon Rebel T1i Test: Moonlight

ytsutano asked:

Taken with Canon Rebel T1i (aka 500D or Kiss X3) and roughly edited in Apple iMovie. Problem is that manual exposure is not supported in the video mode by the current T1i firmware. 5D Mark II now supports this by the latest update. Now the 5D is light years ahead of T1i in terms of video capability. I was playing the piano while my sister’s dog, Bikke, was peeing on the carpet just next to the pianos. Piano: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II, moon: Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM. 1920×1080 at 20 fps.

Maybe. Look for an in-camera retouch menu. If your camera has it, yes you can.

Canon EOS 500D / Rebel T1i Dof test (with Canon 50mm 1/8) First try, without tripod/stabilizer/editing… Out of the box with “verry low light” “without aditional ilumination” and “without manual settings” (music by BoCrew “Outstanding”)…. so, with some effort, great things can be done with the 500d & 50mm…

I know the basic functions of the camera, I just need to know a lot more. Like what settings to set when I am taking in raw.
I have read the owners manual. I need to know how to take in raw. The owners manual was extremely basic things, such as how to turn the camera on and how to upload pictures.

Question by jlh: What is a good telephoto lens to add to a Canon T1i?
I have a Canon T1i which came with an EF-S 55-250 lens and an EF-S 18-55. I would now like to add a couple of additional lenses. I am interested in Macro photography and would also like a longer telephoto lens. I am an amateur and do not want to spend thousands. What would be the next logical lenses to buy? They don’t have to be Canon lenses necessarily.

I also want to buy a strobe and like Sunpak.

Any suggestions.

First I own a Canon 1000D and I recommend nothing but Canon lenses. Third party lenses offer attractive prices but the glass is normally of lesser quality.

That said I have 3 Canon lenses, the 18ᇋ, a 28-200 (best I have) and a 75-300 which does well when I actually use it. In my opinion a general lens would be your best bet. Something that’s fairly wide at the bottom but has a pretty good reach. As I see it the 55-250 is pretty good but it’s not wide enough to leave on your camera as I do with my 28-200. I do that because every time I change I’m opening my sensor to dust and dirt.

just my thoughts – good luck

Hello,

I have read the manual on looked up online to learn how to use my camera, however, the terminology makes it a bit confusing. I am a simple person who wants good pictures.

I just started using the Canon T1i last yesterday, however, my pictures are blurry or too soft?

Can anyone tell me what setting it is to fix that?

Thanks
