Question by helloimD4NNY: How do I take clear pictures of fast moving objects on a Canon Rebel T1i?
Even on sports mode pictures have that smeared effect. The T1i is also referred as the Canon EOS 500D. I’m using the efs 18-55mm lens.
I’m shooting pictures of people bboying(breakdancing).

what are you shooting?

500th of a second shutter speed will freeze most things using ambient light

flash freezes most things but bullets

so use flash or use 500th shutter or faster

Question by girzer: Can you use the light on the rebel T1i while recording?
I just got a Canon rebel T1i and I’m still not use to it. I’m going out recording at night and was wondering if there is a way you can turn the light on the cam while recording or if you could adjust the lighting settings?

That little lamp on your camera is an electronic flash. It is not a continuous lamp like found on actual video cameras.

Recording at night will take skills and added light that most motion picture and video people learn in school

You can buy a special video lamp, but you will need a good battery pack to keep it lit

Here is one option
