Will the new Canon EOS Rebel T1i work?

I know the 40d is more expensive, but would it be worth it to wait for the money for it? Or are the specs on the t1i better anyways?
I just want some help seeing the pros and cons of each of these Canon cameras. They both have excellent camera features and can do the same things, but the way they’re done is different, as well as the way that everything works internally…

Im interesting now in cameras having frame of about 23X15mm (3.45)cm like Canon Rebel T1I ,Nikon D90 ,D3000 ,and D5000 which most of them having a zoom lens of 18-55mm .Do these numbers of focal length related to actual length or to the cropped focal length (multiply by a crop facter (1.5-1.6) to get the related full frame (36X24mm) focal length ? thanks.

Ok so i want to buy a digital SLR camera that can shoot video. My two choices are the Nikon D90 or the Canon EOS Rebel T1i. Which of the two would be the better buy considering all the features each camera contains?
So overall what do you think would be the better buy? The Nikon or the Canon?
